Foundation Stage Overrun by Minibeasts !!!
On Tuesday 22nd May, Reception children and staff were bitten by the bug arriving at school in a variety of minibeasts costumes and ready to attend an Ugly Bug Ball.
We had a lovely afternoon singing and dancing alongside the Centre for the Performing Arts in their production of the Ugly Bug Ball.
The children were put into five groups: frogs, caterpillars, snails, bees and spiders. All the children participated as part of their group and as a whole year group to help encourage different minibeasts to climb along and over a wall to go to the Ugly Bug Ball.
Each group had different actions (in the style of a minibeast) to perform and some even played the chime bars. The children performed their moves whilst Chris, the puppeteer, helped the minibeast puppets over the wall and Vicky, the narrator, told the story. Jonathon (on the flute) and Kay (on the guitar) played their instruments throughout the performance whilst we sang along.
For the Grand Finale, all the groups performed together and we all danced at the Ugly Bug Ball.
